What Happens After the Rewire?
A full rewire involves chasing into walls so new cables can be fitted safely. Plastering is not included in the quotation, and we strongly recommend using a skilled plasterer to make good any channels before decorating.
We clean up thoroughly once the electrical work is complete, remove rubble created during the process, and leave the property ready for the next stage.

House Rewire FAQs
Got questions about pricing, timelines, or what’s involved? Here are the answers most homeowners ask before getting a quote.
Can you really complete a full rewire in 2 days?
Yes—The fact that we have an experienced, specialist 5-man rewire team means that we are able to comfortably and safely complete all 3 and 4 bedroom houses in 2 days. General electricians are unable to achieve this timescale.
What is included in a Full Rewire
Full rewiring involves changing the fuse board (also known as a Consumer Unit) and replacing all of the wiring, sockets, switches, lights, etc.
How do I know if my house needs rewiring?
If you are having to use extension leads or have flickering lights or tripping circuits, or your home hasn’t been rewired in 30/40+ years, it’s worth getting it checked. We’ll always give honest advice on whether a full or partial rewire is needed.
Do I need to move out during the rewire?
We usually recommend staying elsewhere for one night due to the disruptive nature of the ongoing rewiring work. However, we understand that this is not always possible due to personal circumstances and if this is the case we can make arrangements for you to stay.
Will there be any power during the work?
There won’t be full power during the rewire, but we can provide temporary solutions for essentials like fridge freezers where needed.
Does rewiring cause a lot of disruption?
Yes, a house rewire involves lifting floorboards in different rooms at the same time, cutting ‘chases’ into plasterwork and then fixing the new cables to the brickwork. We guarantee completion of your house rewire in 2 days which minimises the period of disruption. We work cleanly, protect your home, and tidy up as we go and bag-up and take away all rubble created in the process.
Do I need to get a plasterer to make good the walls after rewiring?
Yes. Plastering is not included in the quotation. We prefer to leave this to a skilled plasterer as they will ensure a seamless finish to any holes and channels prior to decoration. An electrician will not be able to achieve this level of finish, and few things look more unsightly than shrinkage cracks or being able to see the outlines of the rewiring channels after decorating.
Will you move furniture and take up carpets?
Yes — we handle this as part of the job. We move furniture as necessary while the rewire progresses. We lift carpets where needed, and put everything back once the work is complete. We ask that any ornaments etc which are of sentimental or monetary value are taken off shelves, mantelpieces and sideboards and put in the garage or in drawers or cupboards to rule out the potential for damage.
Do you clean my home after rewiring?
Yes. We clean up after ourselves as we go along and after the rewiring is complete. We take pride in carrying out a very thorough final clean up. A lot of customers compliment us on this as you will see in our Testimonials/Reviews
What is the Cost of a House Rewire?
The cost of a house rewire varies according to the level of specification and the exact cost will depend on how many sockets, lights and general level of specification you require. This would be assessed during our visit to your property. For more information visit our costs & pricing page.
